Join our Christmas Campaign to support women and children in crisis.

Give the gift of choice, and support women and children in crisis this Christmas. While most will be celebrating the holiday season, others will be facing uncertainty as they rebuild their lives, and the lives of their children.

For those entering our refuges, the chance to choose gifts for their loved ones brings back confidence and joy. Your support for women and children in crisis makes this possible

Donate

Those entering our refuges often have nothing but the clothes they are standing in. By donating to Refuge Victoria, you’ll help us to provide critical support for women and children escaping family violence — allowing them to begin taking charge of their futures as they rebuild their lives, self-esteem, and resilience.

How Your Donation Helps Women and Children in Crisis

Your generosity helps provide clients with the resources they need to rebuild their lives, regain their independence, and create lasting change for themselves and their families.

Why We Need Your Support

With three substantial refuge facilities of 18 independent units and 15 crisis properties, and nomination rights over a further 35 transitional properties, we’re supporting some of the most vulnerable people in Victoria.  Our properties are fully furnished and stocked with basic food and household items to assist clients during their stay with us. Generous donors permit us to provide even more support whilst reminding our clients that their community cares.

Donate to Refuge Victoria’s Animal Therapy Program (Didi’s Family)

Animal interactions are being increasingly used in the treatment of trauma and a range of other mental and physical health challenges, and have proven to be effective, particularly in children and young people. That’s why Refuge Victoria has introduced animal therapy into our range of support services offered to families in refuge. Donate to Refuge Victoria’s animal therapy program.

In-Kind Donations

Refuge Victoria supports over 500 clients each year who are recovering from the impacts of family violence. Empowering the clients in our care is very important to us, and for this reason we endeavour to provide items that are new rather than passing on preloved or unwanted items.

Items We Can Accept:

  • New linen for single and double beds (single and double bed sheet sets, quilt covers, quilts, pillows, pillowcases, bath towels and face washers).
  • Non-perishable food items.
  • Gift cards to purchase food, petrol or other necessities.
  • Unopened toiletries, e.g. shampoo, conditioner, deodorant and sanitary products.

For further donation enquiries, email [email protected].

Donations can be accepted at our head office in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne or in some circumstances, collection may be possible.

Donate to Others

We work closely with a range of community partners to support our client’s practical needs.  The generous support of these organisations allows Refuge Victoria to focus on the provision of crisis accommodation and specialised support.

If you have preloved items in good enough condition that you would happily give it to a loved one, the organisations listed here may be able to take them.
