By donating to Refuge Victoria you will help us to provide vital practical support for women and children who are rebuilding their lives, self-esteem and resilience, and taking charge of their futures. Many people who come into our care have nothing but the clothes they are standing in.

Why we need your support

With three substantial refuge facilities of 18 independent units and 15 crisis properties, and nomination rights over a further 35 transitional properties, we’re supporting some of the most vulnerable people in Victoria.  Our properties are fully furnished and stocked with basic food and household items to assist clients during their stay with us. Generous donors permit us to provide even more support whilst reminding our clients that their community cares.

Support us with a monthly gift

An ongoing monthly donation to Refuge Victoria will help support our clients in a tangible way as they start to rebuild their lives.  When starting over, all household essentials are needed, for example, new linen that they can take with them when they move to more permanent accommodation, or new books or board games for their children to replace the ones they left behind.

Support us with a one-off gift

One-off donations help Refuge Victoria to provide a tailored response to clients in our care with the purchase of essentials like clothing, and other household items like cutlery, crockery and small appliances, needed to set up a new home from scratch.

Donate to Refuge Victoria’s animal therapy program (Didi’s Legacy)

Animal interactions are being increasingly used in the treatment of trauma and a range of other mental and physical health challenges, and have proven to be effective, particularly in children and young people. That’s why Refuge Victoria has introduced animal therapy into our range of support services offered to families in refuge. Donate to Refuge Victoria’s animal therapy program.

In kind donations

Refuge Victoria supports over 500 clients each year who are recovering from the impacts of family violence. Empowering the clients in our care is very important to us, and for this reason we endeavour to provide items that are new rather than passing on preloved or unwanted items.

Items We Can Accept:

    • New linen for single and double beds (single and double bed sheet sets, quilt covers, quilts, pillows, pillowcases, bath towels and face washers)

    • Non-perishable food items

    • Gift cards to purchase food, petrol or other necessities

    • Unopened toiletries, e.g. shampoo, conditioner, deodorant and sanitary products.

For further donation enquiries, email donations@refugevictoria.org.au.

Donations can be accepted at our head office in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne or in some circumstances, collection may be possible.
