Interpreters

Refuge Victoria supports women from a wide range of cultural backgrounds. We can provide telephone and/or face to face interpreters (COVID restrictions permitting) through the Victorian Interpreting and Translating Service (VITS).

Our team is trained in cultural safety and awareness, and practice in a culturally inclusive way. We will work with you by using language or Auslan interpreters to communicate verbally.

We will also communicate in writing using translated, plain English documents or braille and by connecting you with our partners and services, who will link you to your community or culture to make you feel safe.
